VHA IE Branding Strategy and Style Guide
Client: Veterans Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem (VHA IE)
VHA IE required a cohesive branding strategy to unify its internal and external marketing materials. Blackberg Group’s creative team collaborated with VHA IE to develop a comprehensive style guide that established clear and consistent design standards across all programs. This guide encompassed key branding elements, including color palettes, custom icons, imagery styles, and logo formats, ensuring a professional and recognizable visual identity throughout the organization. By establishing these practical and effective guidelines, we enabled VHA IE to communicate its mission with clarity and consistency, thereby enhancing engagement within the Veteran healthcare community.
Innovation Experience (iEX) Visual Identity and Creative Branding Package
Client: Veterans Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem (VHA IE)
Blackberg developed a visual identity for a three-day annual event for VHA IE, called iEX. The process involved crafting a durable, cohesive and memorable brand presence that reflected the event's innovative nature and mission. Our team began by analyzing the event’s goals and target audience, which informed the design of a unique visual language that communicated both professionalism and forward-thinking energy. This included a thoughtfully chosen color palette, custom typography for readability and impact, and imagery that conveyed innovation and community. We also created adaptable logo formats and developed a comprehensive suite of design elements for all materials, from stage graphics and signage to digital assets like social media graphics and emails. By ensuring visual consistency across all touchpoints, we created a strong, recognizable brand that reinforced iEX’s mission and values while enhancing the attendee experience and solidifying the event's position in the Veteran healthcare space.

Collaborating with VA’s Strategic Initiatives Lab, we developed a logo, color palette, and visual style guide, as well as collateral that captures the program's dynamic, forward-thinking vision. Our creative work for the VA Immersive Summit event was recognized with a 2024 MarCom Honorable Mention Award for excellence in branding, underscoring our commitment to delivering compelling and high-impact visual experiences.
Mission Daybreak Branding Package
Client: Mission Daybreak
Mission Daybreak brings together Veterans, researchers, technologists, advocates, and healthcare providers to advance suicide prevention solutions. When the initiative approached Blackberg Group, it had an established brand but did not fully comply with the VA’s branding standards. Since the project directly serves veterans and collaborates with VA programs, maintaining branding consistency was essential to ensure clarity and trust. Our creative team was tasked with refining the brand to meet these strict guidelines while preserving the program’s visual integrity. We identified non-compliant elements and developed a comprehensive brand style guide detailing the necessary adjustments, including color palettes, typography, and logo usage. Additionally, we created a suite of marketing materials and digital assets to ensure a cohesive and professional presence across all platforms. Through this process, we helped Mission Daybreak strengthen its visual identity, ensuring it effectively communicated its mission while aligning with VA branding standards to enhance recognition, credibility, and trust within the veteran community.

Blackberg’s creative team was tasked with developing a unified and enduring branding strategy that would establish a recognizable presence for iEX. Our scope of work encompassed motion graphics, stage graphics, signage, one-pagers, PowerPoint presentations, posters, emails, social media graphics, award certificates, retractable banners, and a dedicated website. To ensure visual cohesion across all materials, our team crafted a comprehensive style guide that defined the event's color palette, typography, imagery, and layout principles. This cohesive approach strengthened the iEX brand, fostering trust, recognition, and a growing number of repeat attendees year after year.
Membership Magazine Redesign
Client: The National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP)
The Blackberg graphic design team was hired by the NABIP to collaborate with staff, an editorial team and advertising sales group to improve the overall design and effectiveness of the quarterly member magazine.
