Blackberg Group is seeking a SharePoint Engineer who is experienced in creating, configuring, and maintaining diverse SharePoint environments. This individual should have demonstrated experience using various programming languages to further customize sites and tools. This consultant must collaborate directly with clients to recommend solutions based on their objectives and pain points.
The SharePoint Engineer will be part of a larger communications program supporting the VA’s health care delivery system. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and creative with strong written and oral communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
SharePoint Development & Customization
- Design and customize customer workflows (automate business processes), websites, web parts, form, lists/libraries, and other custom applications or tools using programming languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, Microsoft .NET, CSS, andHTML).
- Customize and implement tools and capabilities to include dashboards, databases, web sites, employee libraries, and reports for SharePoint.
- Collaborate with customers to assess the current environment and develop proactive solutions regarding SharePoint features, site architecture, workflows, and custom applications.
- Develop reusable site templates, themes, and custom branding to standardize the look and feel across SharePoint sites.
- Provide technical support to team members and customer SharePoint users.
Environment Administration & Maintenance
- Create, configure, administer, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot SharePoint environments.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of SharePoint systems.
- Integrate SharePoint environments with other systems such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and third-party applications.
Power Platform Expertise
- Leverage Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI to design custom workflows and reporting solutions that meet business needs.
- Develop interactive, data-driven dashboards and reports using Power BI, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Create and manage reusable components (e.g., templates, connectors, datasets) across Power Platform solutions.
- Document Power Platform designs, workflows, and processes for training and knowledge transfer to internal teams and clients.
Client Collaboration & Project Management
- Work directly with clients to assess current environments, identify pain points, and propose innovative solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, translating client needs into actionable technical designs/user flows using Figma and FigJam.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables in an Agile environment using tools like Monday.com and JIRA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field applicable to the position required.
- Microsoft Certified SharePoint Developer Associate certification or relevant certification applicable to the position required.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of SharePoint development experience.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of client engagement experience.
- Proven experience with custom workflows, web parts, list/library engineering and debugging using various programming languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, CSS, Microsoft .NET, HTML).
- Expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365, C#, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- Preferred experience in management consulting or the federal space.
